Thankful

thank-ful

Writing is fun, hard and stressful. You question yourself at every turn…but when you get your first 5 ‚ú®review and they love your characters as much as you do..it is soooo worth it.

Thank you to the gals for answering all my newbie questions – Natalie, Stacey, Kris (Author Kristine Dugger)

Thank you to Lili Saint Germain and the girls in our posse for giving me the know how and the push to publish.

ūüíę The first books of many to come from this girl ūüíę‚ÄĒ feeling fantastic.

Music

If I had to choose¬†one thing I can’t live without (apart from family and my animals) it would be Music.

I use music in every part of my life.  It allows me to focus on the task at hand.  Otherwise my head is running constantly with, well, everything.

Upbeat music while I am doing the housework.

Loud current playlist while I am driving.

Moody, intense playlist while I am writing to bring out the passion for the scene I am writing.

And the one song I love to sing at the top of my lungs when I am pissed…and before I lose my shit…

Staind – It’s Been Awhile

And a new one just recently found…

Disturbed – The Sound of Silence

Watching music videos helps to get me in the right frame of mind to write. ¬†Especially if I am feeling blah. ¬†Watching sexy moody men doesn’t hurt either ūüôā ¬† Rihanna, Little Mix and Janet Jackson music videos always deliver on the sexy men.

Happy Writing xx

Words Count

Plotted an entire¬†new story yesterday. ¬†Maybe it was the cooler weather, the fire or my warm fuzzy slippers but the inspiration hit yesterday and plotting was completed on my 18th story. ¬†I then wrote 650 words on this story and am in love with it already. Especially the hero ūüėČ

Words Count

Short and sweet this week as I am finding I spend waaaay too long on the internet these days.

Three assignments were submitted last week.  A record for me.  This week I am hoping for the same.

The only word count was for these three assignments. However I am¬†using Caitrin’s story for the Romance course. ¬†Abby’s for the Suspense course.

Therefore, hoping at the end of the next thirteen assignments both stories will be ready for editing.

Back to work…

Words Count

Total words for the last two days has been 142.

I will be submitting the final assignment for Part 1 of the Suspense writing course by the end of this week.

Part 2 is open for both Romance and Suspense courses so I will be submitting alternate assignments for each course as I did for Part 1.

I am thoroughly enjoying both courses and learning great techniques for getting my manuscripts finished.  I have many stories started.  I have no trouble coming up with an idea or scene but doing the hard work and getting further into the story with developed characters is where I have always struggled.  Both of these courses are showing me a logical plan to follow to get from the start to the finish.  Each assignment builds on the one before.

2016…

IMG_7629

End of 2015:

  • stopped working full time
  • family moved interstate
  • husband and children started new jobs and schools
  • I enrolled in two writing courses
    • Romance
    • Suspense
  • moved to rural setting with rolling hills, chickens and fresh (cool) breezes

2016:

  • writing every day and submitting no less than¬†one assignment per week (YAY!)
  • finally reached a place in my life where I am allowing myself the time to write (only took 40 years)

An update

An update to my post in November…I did it!  I wrote over 50000!!

Now that I know I can write that many words my next goal is to edit to a finished product.  I have signed up for an edit class and with 12+ stories on the go I want, no, need to finish them.
